The first Ukrainian Translation Industry Conference took place in 2013 in Kyiv. According to feedback from conference attendees, the event was a success due to good organization, engaging sessions and prominent speakers.
Despite the complicated political situation the following year, we managed to hold another event in Kyiv. Around 200 industry representatives attended UTIC-2014, including delegates from major Ukrainian and Russian companies and participants from other countries.
In 2015, the UTIC organizing committee decided to move the event online and during the year we held free webinars with both well-known and new speakers.
However, no online meet-up can reproduce the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a live UTIC event. Which is why, this year, InText is organizing a full-scale conference in a completely new format. On June 10-12, 2016 we will attempt to accomplish the ambitious mission of combining a business event, prominent speakers and fascinating presentations about the art of translation and new technologies, with a camping adventure and a cordial reunion of old friends.
This is the first time that the Ukrainian Translation Industry Conference will take place in such an unusual location: in a pine forest by the picturesque Samara river, which is 43 kilometers from the city of Dnipropetrovsk. The open-air UTIC will be a mix of presentations by the industry's gurus and new faces, with campfire songs in the evening.
The conference program consists of three parallel tracks: The Art of Translation; The Business of Translation; and Localization and Translation Technologies. Amongst the many prominent speakers will be Hans Fenstermacher, William Hackett-Jones, Jost Zetzsche, Paul Filkin, Inga Michaeli and Jose Palomares.
Visit the UTIC website, follow the conference on Facebook, and join us for 3 days of networking, learning, and fun!
