The period of summer vacations is winding down. Fall is but a couple of days away; it will bring a new spurt of business activity and another conference season that InText is eager to open. There are traditional events and new conferences to which our representatives have been invited as speakers, are attending as exhibitors, video journalists and partners.

ATC Annual Conference
The first is the ATC Annual Conference that will be held in London on September 14th. Olga Fomenko, InText’s Marketing and PR manager was invited to give a presentation "Value the Intangible: Metamotivation Ideas Upside Down". The presentation focuses on aspects of work we rarely give the credit they deserve: work stress and resilience building exercises. The conference is expected to be very informative yet not overwhelming and will have a lot of networking opportunities for our company. The conference’s program is available here.
The Association of Translation Companies hosting the conference was founded back in 1976 and is one of the oldest professional groups representing the interests of translation companies in the UK and all over the world.
Translation Forum Russia 2012
Translation Forum Russia 2012 will take place in Kazan, Russia on September 28th-30th. Traditionally, InText has been the video partner of the conference and will help to capture the essence of the conference and share its values. The conference will include workshops, presentations and round tables by international speakers: Bob Donaldson (Carson Strategy Group), Doug Lawrence (Amicus TransTechnical) and renowned Russian industry specialists: (prof. Irina Alekseeva (St. Petersburg High School of Translation), Vladimir Babkov (Master of Literary Translation from English at the Gorky Literary Institute). InText will be represented by a team of seven people including Valentyna Kozlova and Sergey Ishchuk, giving a joint presentation entitled “Translator-Editor Relationships: the Way to Quality”.
Traditionally, InText has been one of the partners of the conference and our representatives will be your eyes and ears at the event, providing photo and video coverage.
Translation Forum Russia is perhaps the largest translation conference in Eastern Europe and has been held since 2009. The conference is rich in content and covers a variety of topics bringing together translation providers and buyers of language services, freelancers, in-house translation specialists and representatives of educational institutions.
ELIA Networking Days
Upcoming ELIA Networking Days will be hosted in Budapest on October 4th-6th. Again and again, ELIA events bring together ideas, practices and people from all over. This time, Marie Colliander-Lind (Inkrease), a great speaker and a tweeting guru will reveal some of her secrets in “Networking with a Tweet”. Luigi Muzii (sQuid), an old-timer within the industry, will share his views on industry standards. As in the past, InText’s representative Olga Fomenko will be working on creating photo and video materials. The conference’s program can be found on ELIA’s website.
ELIA is a non-profit organization established to connect professional organizations for translation, interpreting and localization companies across Europe and related organizations from other parts of the world, representing the interests of its member companies in the European marketplace and promoting quality standards throughout the industry. ELIA Networking Days events take place twice per year. The next conference will be hosted in Budapest from October 4th to 6th, 2012.
Localization World, the biggest localization event in the world, will take place in Seattle, on 17-19 October, 2012. This year the program offers the brightest and the most innovative presentations addressing issues in reaching the international mobile market and wider localization topics. InText’s representative Valentyna Kozlova will deliver a presentation on vendor management best practices.
Localization World has been presented by The Localization Institute and MultiLingual Computing, Inc. since 2003 and supported by professionals in the language business all over the world.
Translation Strategies is a relatively new event that was first held in 2010. This year, the conference will be hosted in Narva, Estonia on 2-4 November 2012. Produced by insiders of the Russian translation market, the conference truly serves the industry needs, maintaining standards and providing qualified specialists with new opportunities to learn, communicate with peers and make important business contacts. InText is the video partner of the conference and will collecting photo and video materials. The program can be found here.
