Regional conference organized by ProZ.com translators' website took place on October 18-19 in Britannia Hotel in Kharkiv.
This is the first time such an event has been held in the translation market history of not only Ukraine, but also the other CIS countries. This fact is supported by a large number of participants (over 80) from 11 countries - the U.S., Canada, Sweden, France, Spain, Lithuania, Romania, Poland, Belarus, Russia and, of course, Ukraine.
Participants included mostly freelance translators and representatives of the translation companies. Conference program was interesting for both groups, focusing on various aspects of their relationships. During discussion, the participants tried to reach a common opinion and find optimal ways of cooperation.
InText was represented by its Executive Director Stanislav Kalenyuk, Senior Project Manager Valeriy Legotin, Senior Project Manager Kirill Fedotov, Project Manager Nataliya Danilchuk and HR Manager Anna Braslavskaya.
Anna's presentation covered modern approaches of her company in its cooperation with freelance translators, provoked a lively discussion among the Conference participants. This discussion was valuable for InText - we saw feedback from freelancers and our colleagues from other translation companies regarding the methods used by our company in its work with freelance translators, and we tried to answer the questions which arose.
Henry Dotterer made an interesting presentation, dedicated to the future of the translation industry. Promoting "Be GOOD!" motto, he focused on the translators' professional development, as well as the need to unite into professional groups, associations, etc.
InText extends its gratitude to, Oleg Rudavin, Pavel Dunayev and other organizers and participants of this large scale professional event. Thanks a lot - everything was great! And, of course, our acknowledgements go to all presenters and participants for a friendly environment and valuable information. Our team is discussing and sharing opinions on this event - and we review the information received by our colleagues at the conference.
